Where is Flora & Lane located?

We are located at the corner of School St & N Western Ave, facing the main street with Chipotle & Mariano's across the street from us. Our exact location is : 2358 W School St C2, Chicago , IL 60618.

When should I order my wedding dress?

All of our gowns are made to order which means that we do not begin creating your dress until you have placed your order with us. All creations takes us between 5-7 months. We recommend ordering your gown about 8-10 months prior to your wedding date. However, if you are tight on deadline and in need of placing a rush order, please contact us directly through email (hello@floraandlane.com) and we will work out the best solution with you depending on our schedule at the time.

What does made-to-order mean?

All of our gowns are made to order which means that we do not begin creating your dress until you have placed your order with us.

For all of our sample gown orders, we professionally clean, steam + do quality control of the dress to make sure that it will align well with your measurements. That entire process + prepping the order for shipment takes around 3 months. Rush orders are available for sample dresses as well.

Which dress size should I order ?

We highly recommend having your measurements taken by a trusted tailor or seamstress, and always order the closest size up. Due to natural weight fluctuation among a few brides during wedding planning, we also recommend doing a second fitting with your tailor a few weeks prior to your wedding even if your gown fit perfectly upon delivery. Small variations in all wedding gowns are to be expected, custom tailoring is necessary for all quality garments to achieve the best possible fit.

Do you offer in-house alterations?

We DO NOT offer in-house alterations. We can, however, offer advice on how to best go about getting the right fit if you happen to have any questions. We suggest you contact a tailor to start the fitting process once you’ve received your dress.

How do I pick up my gown?

No need to pick up your gown. All gowns will be shipped (free-of-charge) to anywhere in the US. We also ship worldwide but do charge shipping fees on international orders. All you have to do is wait patiently and we’ll give you a heads up once it is on its way.

Note: Gown pick-up appointments are not currently offered at our boutique.

How should I prepare for the appointment?

You should list your favorite FAL dresses when you book your appointment. On the day of the appointment, it is recommended to wear nude color undergarments or something of similar style plus a pair of heels of the same height that you will wear on your wedding day to get the complete look!

My wedding is coming up in a few months, can I still book an appointment?

We offer rush order options for brides that need their dress ASAP. Rush fees will apply. If you are in need of a rush order, please contact us at hello@floraandlane.com

Would I be able to add custom elements to my dress?

We are open to minor custom elements added to our gowns to help make your dress uniquely yours.

What is the difference between sample gowns vs. regular priced gowns?

The difference is that our sample gowns are already premade and we use it for display /trying-on purposes in our store or for our at home try on service. All sample gowns are professionally cleaned + steamed + go through a thorough quality check process before shipping.

Our regular priced gowns are made to order by our team. These gowns should be ordered according to to our standard size chart. Only made to order gowns are eligible for customizations. This means that the dress will be personally made for you from the beginning and that it can be made to be uniquely yours.

What are the set of measurements you would need?

Before you begin with the measurements, please be sure to,

  • Wear undergarments that you will wear under the dress on your wedding day.

  • Stand up straight and tall. Stay relaxed. Try not to hold your breath, suck in or push out your stomach or chest. Take all the measurements with your arms by your sides.

  • Take the measurements more than once to be sure and don't make it too tight, you should be able to fit a finger between the tape and your body.

Measurements

  • Bust: Measure across the fullest part of your bust

  • Waist: Measure the slimmest part of your waist (above your navel but below your ribcage).

  • Hips: Measure the fullest part of your hip area (roughly three inches below the waist).

  • Arm Girth : Measure the circumference around your upper arm. Relax your arm and let it hang at your side. Your bicep should be slightly tensed. Pass the measuring tape around the thickest part of your upper arm.

  • Arm's Eye : This measurement gives us the size of the sleeve hole that you are comfortable wearing. This measurement is entirely subjective and you can make it as deep or as tight as you are comfortable with.

  • Arm Length : Measure from the top of your shoulder, along your arm to where the wrist meets your hand, just past your wrist bone.

  • Hollow to Hem (Without shoes): Measure from the center of the collarbone to desired dress length or to the floor.

  • Waist To Hem (Without shoes): Measure from your Natural Waist to desired dress length or to the floor.

  • Heel Height:  Feel free to give an approximate length of the heels that you plan on wearing.
